Spring's Invitation
Spring's Invitation showcases the gentle connection between the natural world and what we observe. Two birds find each other among the tree tops after a quiet winter with an invitation from Spring itself to reconnect with the world, each other and renew with hope and curiosity. Spring's Invitation was originally created in the early part of 2021, when the world was moving from a "winter of unknown" into a new year. As the globe transitioned seasons, Spring's Invitation was included in the relief print and science collection of Uppercase Magazine's famous artcentric publication, issue #50 (you can find this print on page 99!).
This original print is a linocut, designed from original pencil drawings, transferred and carefully carved over 16 hours. The original inspiration began from another set of linocut relief prints of a single boy bird and a single girl bird and it just made sense to bring them together in a completed story.
Prints are all individually created, may show some variances of ink, block and paper connection, which is part of the charm of an original print. Each is signed and dated.
Print design: 9" x 12"
Paper dimension: 11"x 14"
Paper: varies from wither Korean or Japanese papers, depending on stock. Paper is lightweight, delicate, yet sturdy enough to hold the ink. Framing is encouraged once it's made it to your home! (frame and mat are not included, prints sold individually).
